Commercial Analyst (Senior Consultant)

The Opportunity 

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst (Senior Consultant) to build and operationalise a suite of financial reporting tools and models. 

The Commercial Analyst will work closely with the ThreeTwoFour Directors and Principals to develop and maintain commercial models and reports that form the baselines for success in our company.  

As part of this, the Commercial Analyst will take a lead role in the definition and shaping of the commercial aspects of new projects and will own commercial reporting on those projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring minimum profitability targets are set and maintained. 

The individual will be responsible for delivering robust analysis, for ensuring data quality and for providing insights to key decision makers and the Board, to ensure that projects and services are aligned to the business strategy. The analysis outputs will play a central role in shaping our commercial strategy. 

Working as part of a highly collaborative team the role will liaise with team members across all leadership and project teams as well as marketing, operations, people and finance teams.  

Key Responsibilities 

Commercial Project Support  

  • Create commercial models for individual projects as well as suitable tracking mechanisms  
  • Create detailed analysis of project resourcing forecasting and actuals  
  • If required, support the business development and delivery activities by building more robust propositions, including – competitor analysis, market size analysis, pricing model development, cost modelling, operational feasibility modelling, value proposition development, business case development  

ThreeTwoFour Insights Reporting  

  • Develop and maintain the relevant tools, reports and dashboards supporting the commercial reporting  
  • Develop and maintain metrics and performance reporting supporting identification of risks and opportunities  
  • Prepare presentations for management meetings and input to board papers  

  

ThreeTwoFour Forecasting  

  • Support the Directors in the development of annual, quarterly and monthly plans and targets  
  • Use data-driven approach to provide input to commercial plans, and use own judgement and acumen to provide recommendations for improvement  
  • Maintain and improve the current commercial forecasting process  

 

Skills And Experiences

  • 3+ years professional experience in Analytics
  • Demonstrated skills in Strategy, Consulting, Commerciality and Finance
  • Accounting background (ACA, CIMA or ACCA is an advantage)
  • Strong analytical skills, highly numerate and the ability to solve problems
  • Excellent skills in tools such as Excel, including advanced features, diagrams and pivot tables
  • Strong commerciality and ability to quickly grasp commercial models and value drivers
  • Experience in developing commercial models and business plans
  • Excellent presenting and interpersonal skills, including ability to explain complex ideas
  • Understanding of professional services business model and services
  • Experience with time-based billing rates, WIP, fixed-price deliverables and contingency fees
  • Proactive and highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
  • Experience in putting together presentations based on data-driven insights, to a variety of audiences
  • Industry experience in banking or consulting firms is an advantage
